Reading Abbey’s hospitium, or dormitory for pilgrims has been around since the 12th Century. The main building is now occupied today by The Co-operative Childcare Reading nursery. The Co-operative Childcare can accommodate children aged 3 months to five years with four spacious rooms and a well-equipped garden area.
During a recent refurbishment of the heating system Mikrofill supplied an ETHOS 90kW natural gas condensing boiler to provide LPHW to the new VT circuit complete with ancillaries. The wall mounted stainless steel boiler has a modulation of 10 > 1 and ensures the burner output always matches the building’s demand as well as reducing emissions.
The installation was skilfully carried out by Facilities & Maintenance Engineering Ltd and was complemented by the addition of an electronic Mikrofill 150 pressurisation package.
