MIKROFILL SUPPORTS BEC IN TOUGH MUDDER CHALLENGE
A team from leading East Midlands M&E engineering firm Built Environment Consulting (BEC) completed a 5 mile Tough Mudder Challenge on Saturday 12th May 2018 to raise awareness and funds for Treetops Hospice Care. Treetops, which provide respite and end of life care for adults in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire support people with illnesses such as cancer, motor neurone disease and multiple sclerosis. It also supports their carer’s and families. All services are provided free of charge and with running costs of £7,500 per day the hospice has to raise more than £3 million every year to run. The majority of income is covered by fundraising events and charitable donations from the public.
Matthew Faulkner, director at BEC said: “Since working on a new in-patient bedded unit dedicated to caring for people at the end of life at the Riley site, we decided that Treetops Hospice Care would be the ideal charity to raise funds for while setting ourselves this big challenge.”
“We asked companies we work with to make a donation for this worthy cause in return for a logo placement on our team t-shirts. This really helped with the fund raising and we are very pleased with the money we raised” said Richard Wilson, Mechanical Design Consultant at BEC.
