MIKROFILL ETHOS CHOSEN BY LEONARD CHESHIRE
The Leonard Cheshire Disability organisation exists to change attitudes towards disability and to serve disabled people around the world.
Their principal activity in the UK is the provision of services in support of disabled people in the widest context. These services include care homes, supported living, domiciliary support, day services, resource centres, rehabilitation, respite care, personal support and training and assistance for those looking for work.
When the heating and hot water services at St Cecilia’s Care Home in Bromley, Kent, needed replacing, it was Mikrofill’s British designed and built equipment that was selected to replace the existing boilers and calorifiers.
Leading service engineers, Hilton Building Services of Nottingham, installed an Ethos 70kw stainless steel condensing boiler along with a Rapide Extreme 500 hot water loading system. The combination of which gives the care home and its thirty residents, a continuous flow rate of 1200 litres per hour and efficiencies of up to 94%, this is down to the fact that the Rapide Extreme loading system keeps the boiler in condensing mode throughout hot water production.
