MEDIEVAL MEETS MODERN AT ST PETERS

With St Peters Church having no heating for the past 30 years, Communion Architects of Hereford, took on the mammoth task of renovating the medieval building. The parish church will breathe new life into the heart of Hereford City Centre providing multi-facilities for the community with a tasteful modern approach.

Engineering Services Design Practice (ESDP Ltd) of Redditch incorporated a comprehensive heating package from UK designer and manufacturer Mikrofill. This consisted of 2 No. Ethos 70kW stainless steel condensing Boilers, a pressurisation unit as well as a Mikrovent 250 Low Loss Header/Air & Dirt Separator. All were sited within the church’s basement, providing primary heat to the building  through a new underfloor system within a raised oak floor as well as perimeter heating via renovated existing cast iron radiators. The mechanical installation was carried out by TH Haskett of Gloucester.

A Mikrofill Cascade boiler management system provides the users with comfort solutions and zone control within the large worshipping space.
