King’s School is one of England’s oldest independent schools, with a history stretching back for more than five centuries and a reputation for delivering outstanding education. The school has recently re-located to a £60m Vinci Construction development in rural Cheshire. The 80-acre site comes complete with state-of-the-art accommodation, an adjoining sports centre and swimming pool. The school teaches boys and girls from the age of 3 through to 18.

In a design build format, long standing mechanical services contractor, A&B Engineering Ltd incorporated the use of numerous Extreme hot water loading cylinders by Mikrofill. Two pairs of the WRAS approved stainless steel cylinders serve a multitude of hot water requirements including the sports building, kitchens, classrooms and café area.

The Extreme 300 & 500 litre models installed both produce the same instantaneous performance in excess of 2000 l/hr at 60°C. In addition the loading cylinders maximise condensing boiler efficiency by operating at a primary Δt of 30°C (80/50°C). Installed on a sealed system, each Extreme was accompanied by a 6 bar unvented kit.
